Abandoned Russian airplanes
Writing by admin on Friday, 3 of August , 2007 at 3:28 pm
An unusual article caught my attention on Digg yesterday. It featured a website with pictures of old abandoned Russian aircraft. The pictures seem to tell a story of a long-gone era when everybody feared nuclear attacks and when the Berlin wall divided Europe into two areas of influence.
These airplanes were once top of the line, and a part of the proud air fleet of the Soviet Union, yet their lives are now over, their “guts” have been removed and their destiny is now only to sit in the sun, and watch history unfold itself.

The russian aerospace technoogy was very advanced and reliable.
The russian including ex-soviet states must revivie the aviation industry and start production of aircrafts as well as helicopters and meet international standards to provide excellent serivcesa as well technology to the world and compete other aviation industires. World without aviation is in-complete.

I guess their resource is over…. Pretty sad seeing the MiG-21, 25 and 29 sitting there. Can all be put into museums and deliver countless smiles on peoples faces….when they see their child sitting in these planes…. lol i wish someone restored them.

Just too many money is needed to take care of those nowdays for the Russians, they better still on top by funding their 5-gen fighters and replace all of the older machines they use in the military. And the parts for those wrecks are almost imposibble to get … maybe from other machines .. but i would not try to fly white an aircraft, that is in bad shape. Much things could not survive a flight after all the time they rusting there.

It would be cool to use it as a store people use old rail passenger cars why not use an old plane as store or restaraunt

Get a life you bleeding heart liberals, we fought the freedom hating bastards w/blood in Korea, Veitnam! They havent changed since the cold war either (Georgia) Would you rather see them functional on the receiving end? They laughed @ the American trained Georgians when retreating from the vast Russian armor. They would not have laughed facing a Marine expeditionary force, they would have been busy running or dying. They were busy stealing toilet seats (probably for SU35) to replace the 5 gallon buckets currently used.

Good grief ‘Jimo’… Take a chill pill.
It’s a historical perspective that any aviation buff appreciates. Your post just comes across as being a ‘hater’ and insular ignoramous. Consider loosening your grip on your propoganda… ![]()
