M82/M107 .50 caliber Barrett sniper rifle

The M82 and the most recent evolution the M107 are both versions of the same weapon: the .50 caliber Barrett sniper rifle. It’s the most representative sniper rifle, because of its incredible rage (1.5 kilometers) and currently holds the record at 2.5 kilometers. There is no significant difference between the M107 designation ant the last upgrade of the M82: M82A1M.
So why is it so popular? Well probably because there isn’t any armor available yet that can withstand it, and it can actually penetrate vehicle armor! In the ’90s the US military ordered a 125 such weapons to be used in Kuwait and the Iraq war. After seeing it was a definitive success, they wanted some modifications to it, so the most recent model M82A1M was created, which features some changes like the scope railing being adapted to other types of scopes, less recoil, and the cartridge holder being placed behind the trigger.
All these modifications allowed the M82 to be shot from the shoulder. Have a look at the slideshow photo gallery and at the two cool videos I included in this post, to get the feel of the M107 .50 cal sniper rifle!

the M82 .50 calliber sniper rifle is actually used in call of duty 4 …i looked it up and it was ligit …i thought that was pretty cool that they use official guns and not made up shit

Yeah, I fired a Barrett 50 Caliber ultra light today, for the first time, and It was an experience like no other, after the first shot, I was stunned for a couple seconds, the sounds is something i can deal with, but I’m surprised that the percussion I got from it didn’t kill me.

i got the barret .50 cal yesterday @ cod 4 and it’s amazing with the stopping power perk i get 1 shot kills while hitting in the stomach area…
2 bad i have to leave my r700 with red tiger ^^

LOL? I just go to a military camp in my country, they have this sniper rifle that can shoot up to 6 KM. I can’t belive it myself but I don’t have the chance to try it but atleast. I got to handle it and try. It without ammo LOL

yeah i kno lot about this gun cause i am gonna get it when i get 15 grand….im gonna get the M107 varient of it cause it has more features and is practicly the same thing as the M82 and well i wont have to worry bout ppl pissin me off when i have that thing in my house…it weighs 30 pounds and well u cant blind fire it or itll probly blow ur sohulder out of socket and it has max distance of 1.5 miles the bullet rips limbs off(obviously) and since the .50 cal bullet has so much energy behind it if it comes within 6 inches of someone they are ded

WOW! talk about COD4 I have played both M.W1 & M.W.2 its way not real life fighting our USA troups take in each day. I would like to shoot this sweet gun. I have been doing ALOT of reaserch on eaverything I can know about the Barrett .50 cal-semi auto sniper rifle. I have seen many prone positionas on firing & in not one of those vidio’s did the shooter rip his shoulder off, due to VERY LITTLE recoil action

Obviously a rifle that fires 0.50 BMG is going to have a fairly fierce recoil, but it doesn’t look as bad as I’d have expected.
I’d love a chance to fire one. I guess the price of the ammo is going to be fairly frightening, like £5 – £10 a shot
